BLACKPINK – First female K-pop group to perform at Coachella
Coachella is an annual music and arts festival which hundreds of thousands of music lovers attend to see musical performers from all over the world.
One of South Korea’s top-grossing groups, BLACKPINK, is scheduled to perform at Coachella this year as the first ever all-female K-pop group to take part in the festival.
Coachella has featured top performers such as Coldplay, Jay-Z, Raidohead, and Paul McCartney in the past, and it holds a record-breaking attendance of a quarter million attendees in 2017.
The 2019 Coachella will feature headliners Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande.
BLACKPINK made their debut in 2016 and quickly gained international fame while setting records for K-pop artists.
In 2018, the group’s single “Ddu-du Ddu-du” entered multiple international record charts, and its music video was the most-watched Korean music video on YouTube in 24 hours at the time of its release.
BLACKPINK is the first and only all-female K-pop group to be the number one on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart.The 2019 Coachella will take place over the two weekends (April 12th– April 14th, April 19th– April 21st), and BLACKPINK is scheduled to perform on April 12thand April 19th.
